365 Challenge – November 8, 2009

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I’m a car guy, what can I say?  I love old cars.  Fully restored classics or old heaps like this one.  Very few new cars have the appeal to me that old iron does.  This old truck is just down the street from the house.  I pass it frequently during the week.  It’s been there, rusting away for as long as I can remember.  But to me it’s a work of art.  It’s lines, the teardrop headlights.  Modern, digital photography is much like that for me today too.  I want to create images like Ansel Adams did, or Avedon, but using modern technology and techniques.  In many ways shooting is easier, but in many others it’s much more complicated.  So this challenge has been good for me in that regard.

Manual: Page 54 covering deleting unwanted images.  Mundane detail…

Inspiration:  Another chapter in David DuChemin‘s excellent book, “Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision”.  The more I read, the more I learn.  One of the best photo books I’ve read!
