365 Challenge – November 16, 2009

The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Historically I’m a Peanut Butter Cookie man, but my lovely wife makes the BEST Chocolate Cookies ever!  I once asked her her secret and she said it was the Betty Crocker Cookbook her mother had.  She has the recipe memorized, and I’m sure has modified it a bit.  But she started with a known baseline and has clearly made it her own.  She can whip up a double batch in seemingly no time, having them teenager and scrub (grand-kids) ready in about an hour.  My point?  As I have been reading in “Within the Frame” and elsewhere, and one of the goals of the 365 Challenge is that you have the technical aspects down, cold, before you can really begin to let the creativity take over and express your vision.  I am trying to grow and learn every day. ANd then share a bit here for others.  For knowledge that is held within one person is not nearly as powerful as knowledge that is freely shared.

Manual:  Pages 85-87 in Ken Rockwell‘s D300 Manual covering Auto Focus setting and his recommended baseline.

Inspiration:  Went to David DuChemin‘s website and looked through his online galleries and downloaded his e-books, 10 and 10 More.  I am really enjoying his writing, teaching and sharing.
