READING OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION

“I, Scott William Nickell, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.” The oath of office I willingly took, with knowledge and forethought, when I was commissioned, and again, each time I was promoted as a Navy Officer. I normally read the constitution once or twice a year, (it’s available as an App) My thinking is how I can properly support/defend a document I don’t know or understand. Why is there such a fuss about the 112th Congress’ First Session reading a document for which they took a nearly identical oath? IMHO our schools should reinforce constitutional instruction as a matter of National heritage and pride. What say the masses here in WORDPRESS land?
